Eligibility Criteria for SSC Constable GD Recruitment 2025

Nationality:

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India. For CAPF & Assam Rifles vacancies, domicile certificates from the candidate’s state/UT are required​

Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years (born on or after January 2, 2002).
  • Maximum Age: 23 years (born on or before January 1, 2007).
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years.
    • OBC: 3 years.
    • Other specific categories like Ex-Servicemen have additional relaxations.

Educational Qualification:

  • The candidate must have passed Matriculation (10th class) or an equivalent exam from a recognized board as of January 1, 2025​.

Selection Procedure:

1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE):

  • The exam will consist of 80 questions, carrying a total of 160 marks. The questions will be divided into four sections:
    • General Intelligence & Reasoning (20 questions, 40 marks).

    • Elementary Mathematics (20 questions, 40 marks).
    • English/Hindi (20 questions, 40 marks).
  • Duration: 60 minutes.
  • Languages: The exam will be available in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

2. Physical Standard Test (PST) / Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

  • After clearing the CBE, candidates will undergo the PST and PET, which include:
    • PST: Measurement of height and chest (for males), height (for females).
      • Male Height Requirement: 170 cm (with relaxations for certain categories).
      • Female Height Requirement: 157 cm (with relaxations)​.
    • PET: A running test where male candidates must complete 5 km in 24 minutes and female candidates must complete 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes.

3. Medical Examination:

  • Shortlisted candidates will undergo a detailed medical examination to ensure they meet the health and fitness requirements.

4. Document Verification:

  • At the time of the medical examination, candidates will also need to verify their documents, including educational certificates, domicile certificates, and caste certificates​.

  • Candidates must apply online via the official SSC website at https://ssc.gov.in.
  • If the candidate hasn’t completed One-Time Registration (OTR), they must do so on the new SSC website, as registrations from the old website are no longer valid​.The SSC GD 2025 Application Link has been activated by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) along with the detailed notification. Candidates can fill out the online application form from 5th September 2024 to 14th October 2024.
